Danae Tsikouras: Drums

Danae has been drumming for over 20 years and has a myriad of experience ranging in style from pop to metal. She has taught drums privately, at Granata Music, Simply Guitars, and currently teaches and co-owns Living Music Studios. In addition to formal lessons, Danae has volunteered at the annual Ottawa Rock Camp for Girls+ weekend for 3 years. Danae likes to balance her lesson approach between theory /technique and the less formal study of songs of the student’s choosing. Currently, she plays with local hard rock band EDJ, indy/pop/rock/folk singer/songwriter Karen Harrison, and indy/pop/rock/folk band Radiogenic.

DeeDee Butters: Voice

​DeeDee has been teaching since the age of 18 having studied Speech Level Singing with Juno winner Karen Whitham. She currently sings with the critically acclaimed band The PepTides, La Voix Season 7 runner up Rebecca Noelle, The Cooper Brothers, and several other projects. She draws influence from a varied range of artists: Aretha Franklin, Thelma Houston, Bjork, Stevie Wonder, George Benson, Lauryn Hill, Sheryl Crow, and many others. DeeDee believes in teaching the fundamentals of technical voice work while including interpretation and performance work in a fun, creative, and dynamic lesson.  

Andrew Burns: Drums, Piano, Bass, Guitar (classical)

Formally trained from an early age, Andrew is a multi-instrumentalist. He has been teaching music for ten years in styles ranging from pop/rock to jazz/latin to classical, and puts an emphasis on understanding music theory.
He currently plays bass with artsy-pop group The PepTides, classic rock band The Powergoats, acoustic bluesman Al Tambay, reggae/hiphop artist Ty Hall, angular rock group Bag of Snakes, and all instruments in his own electro-bluegrass recording projects.

Norm Howard: Guitar (Electric & acoustic), Bass
Having been with Living Music Studios since it's inception, Norm continues to share his passion and enthusiasm for the instrument with people of all ages.  Playing guitar for over 35 years he is interested in all styles of music from blues, rock, jazz to classical and beyond. His major influences include Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Frank Zappa, John Lee Hooker, Wes Montgomery and John McLaughlin.  He believes in a relaxed but structured learning environment, utilizing both theoretical and hands-on approaches., and enjoys teaching anyone from the complete novice to the seasoned player looking to expand his horizons.

Cliff Chamberlain: Guitar (Electric & acoustic), Bass
Cliff is a well rounded guitarist and musician with over 25 yrs of playing and performing experience. He is well versed in numerous styles: rock, blues, classical, jazz, country and many more. Cliff has taught at various schools in the Ottawa area for over 14 years. His teaching approach works for the student by teaching them their favourite songs and styles, while giving them the essential fundamentals to progress in any style they choose.
